Xinjiangzhou Shipbuilding Heavy Industry: Secures Two 20,000-Ton New Energy Vessel Orders, Adding New Impetus to Deepen Development in Green Shipping

On March 5, Xinjiangzhou Shipbuilding Heavy Industry successfully signed construction orders for two 20,000-ton LNG new energy bulk carriers with Changhang Cargo (Zhoushan) Co., Ltd.Wang Mingsheng, Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Shanghai Changjiang Shipping Co., Ltd., Luo Tianjun, Deputy General Manager, Jiang Xuefeng, General Manager of Changhang Cargo (Zhoushan) Co., Ltd., Wu Qiuping, General Manager of Xinjiangzhou Shipbuilding Heavy Industry, Yang Liu, Deputy General Manager, and Rui Xiaosong, Chief Engineer, along with other leaders, attended and witnessed the signing ceremony. This cooperation reflects the complementary advantages of both parties and marks a crucial step for enterprises to implement the concept of green shipbuilding, expand the high-end ship market, and deepen collaboration with leading domestic shipping enterprises, injecting momentum into high-quality development.

It is reported that Changhang Cargo (Zhoushan) Co., Ltd., the cooperative partner, is a core enterprise under China Changhang. Its business scope covers cargo transportation, ship agency and other services. Relying on the resources of China Changhang, it has profound accumulation and rich experience in the shipping industry. As the largest key inland shipping group in China, China Changhang has selected Xinjiangzhou Shipbuilding Heavy Industry as its strategic supplier for ship construction from 2026 to 2028. This cooperation will accumulate core performance in cooperation with large state-owned enterprises, enhance industry visibility, and lay a foundation for customer development and market expansion.

Since its establishment, Xinjiangzhou Shipbuilding Heavy Industry has focused on the R&D and construction of green and intelligent ships, with the capability to build LNG micro-ignition and dual-fuel power systems. It has previously delivered multiple LNG-powered container ships and chemical tankers. This signing is highly consistent with its positioning of deepening green ship manufacturing. It will further integrate the Group’s internal superior resources, collaborate with PAI Ship Technology, and leverage its professional advantages in the new energy ship sector, mature production team and technical reserves to efficiently promote the implementation of order production. This will not only help improve the Group’s overall new energy shipbuilding capacity, but also achieve resource complementarity and coordinated development between Xinjiangzhou and PAI. The order not only recognizes the comprehensive strength of Xinjiangzhou, but also represents an important practice for the Group to implement the concept of "green and intelligent shipbuilding" and layout in the new energy ship field.

The 20,000-ton new energy bulk carriers signed this time are river-sea direct vessels for Class A navigation areas of the Yangtze River, equipped with two 2,000kW main engines. LNG power can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 20%, supporting the green transformation of Yangtze River shipping.

In the future, Xinjiangzhou Shipbuilding Heavy Industry will take this order as an opportunity to deepen cooperation with large state-owned enterprises including China Changhang, further integrate the Group’s internal R&D and production resources for new energy ships, collaborate with PAI Ship Technology, increase investment in new energy ship R&D, strictly control quality and promote delivery, expand the green ship market, support the high-quality development of Yangtze River shipping, and jointly build a leading enterprise cluster for ship manufacturing in Jiangxi Province.
