The First 25,900 DWT Duplex Stainless Steel Chemical Tanker of XINJIANGZHOU Shipbuilding Launched Successfully

The spring tides surge over the blue waves, and craftsmanship fuels dreams for the deep blue. At 9 a.m. on February 14, 2026, coinciding with the 57th anniversary of the 6214 instruction, the launching ceremony of the first 25,900 DWT duplex stainless steel chemical tanker built by Xinjiangzhou Shipbuilding Heavy Industry (hereinafter referred to as "Xinjiangzhou") for Singapore's MAC Group was grandly held on the bank of Xiachao Lake in Ruichang City.

Lu Zhixuan, Secretary of the Ruichang Municipal Party Committee, He Xudong, Chairman of Qinshi Group and Tianhai Defense, Puxi, General Manager of Singapore's MAC Group, Wu Song, Deputy Secretary of the Ruichang Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Ruichang City, as well as leaders and guests from Jiujiang Customs and Jiujiang MSA, attended the ceremony. Representatives from more than ten financial institutions and cooperative units including directly affiliated departments of Ruichang City, letter of guarantee banks such as China CITIC Bank Nanchang Branch and China Everbright Bank Nanchang Branch, together with all employees of Xinjiangzhou, gathered at the scene to witness this milestone moment carrying the inheritance of military industry.

The ceremony was presided over by Wu Qiuping, General Manager of Xinjiangzhou. He reviewed the 57-year inheritance of military industry of Factory 6214 – 57 years ago, a great man issued an instruction to build another nuclear submarine production base, and Factory 6214 came into being. Today, Xinjiangzhou, evolved from the factory, carries on the military industry heritage and continues its glory. On behalf of the company, Wu Qiuping extended a warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to all leaders and guests, and grandly introduced the attending guests.

The 25,900 DWT duplex stainless steel chemical tanker launched this time is the largest-tonnage and highest-value-added high-end chemical tanker in the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River. It is also a landmark project for Xinjiangzhou to rank among the first-tier teams of chemical tanker construction in China. Aligning with Ruichang's green ship industry plan, it injects impetus into the industrial upgrading of the local area.

Leaders and guests from all walks of life delivered speeches one after another, talking about cooperation, celebrating the launching and envisioning the future together. He Xudong, Chairman of Qinshi Group and Tianhai Defense, stated that the group has always supported Xinjiangzhou in inheriting military industry genes and devoting itself to high-end shipbuilding, and the launching of this first-built tanker is an important achievement of the coordinated development between the two parties. He emphasized that the group will continue to provide all-round support in the future, help Xinjiangzhou enhance its core competitiveness, and take on the important task of upgrading Jiangxi's shipbuilding industry.

Puxi, General Manager of Singapore's MAC Group, delivered a speech on behalf of the shipowner and expressed sincere gratitude for the efforts of all parties. He frankly said that the journey of the tanker from blueprint to launching cannot be achieved without Xinjiangzhou's exquisite craftsmanship, the rigorous control of the supervision team, the professional inspection of the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and government support, which is a result of the efficient coordination of all parties. He said that the two parties will further deepen cooperation, advance the follow-up outfitting and sea trial work to ensure the tanker is put into operation as soon as possible, and wished Xinjiangzhou to achieve greater glories.

Song Aimin, General Manager of ABS Central China Region, said that this tanker is an epitome of the green development of global shipping. ABS has provided inspection and certification services throughout the process, witnessing Xinjiangzhou's shipbuilding strength. He reviewed the 20-year cooperation between the two parties and promised to continue to support the high-quality delivery of the tanker with professional services in the future.

Yu Shuifeng, Vice Mayor of Ruichang Municipal Government, affirmed the strategic significance of the tanker's launching, introduced the development achievements of Ruichang's green ship industry, and promised that the government will continue to provide policy and financial support, help Xinjiangzhou inherit the military industry heritage, carry forward the craftsman spirit, and contribute to the development of the local industry.

After the speeches, Wu Song, Deputy Secretary of the Ruichang Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Ruichang City, officially announced the launching of the tanker. Accompanied by the sound of firecrackers and cheers, champagne splashed, and the high-end giant tanker slowly sailed towards Xiachao Lake, embarking on a new journey of global navigation. The whole audience captured this glorious moment together.

Fifty-seven years of glory fuel dreams, and the launching sets sail for a new journey. Evolving from Factory 6214, Xinjiangzhou is committed to high-end shipbuilding with the support of Qinshi Group. This launching is not only a milestone in the enterprise's development, but also a vivid practice of implementing the green ship plan and promoting industrial transformation, injecting new spring impetus into the high-quality development of the shipbuilding industry in Jiujiang and Jiangxi.
