On January 9, 2026, the delivery ceremony of the 135m duplex stainless steel chemical tanker No.2 (hull number: NJZ1123), constructed by Xinjiangzhou Shipbuilding Heavy Industry for a Dutch client, was successfully held in Conference Room 1 of the company's office building. This marks the first triumph of the "30-Day Intensive Work" campaign.Guests attended the ceremony both online and offline, including Robert-Jan Zimmerman, General Manager of the shipowner MERCURIUS SCHEEPVAART B.V., Sjaak Oudakker, Technical Director, Eng.S.Dumitru, Site Manager; Wen Ying, Surveyor of Lloyd's Register of Shipping; Zhu Xueping, Member of the Party Committee of China CITIC Bank Jiujiang Branch (the project guarantee bank), and Wang Xiaoxiao, Client Manager; representatives of Ruichang State-owned Assets Operation & Management Co., Ltd., the joint seller; He Weifang, General Manager of Jiujiang Jinzi Industrial Holding Co., Ltd.; Wu Xia, Legal Representative of Jiujiang Ruidin Trading Co., Ltd.; as well as Wu Qiuping, General Manager of Xinjiangzhou Shipbuilding Heavy Industry, and Yang Di, Chief Financial Officer. All of them gathered to witness this important moment.
This vessel is the second order from the Dutch shipowner undertaken by Xinjiangzhou Shipbuilding Heavy Industry. With an overall length of 134.958 meters, a molded breadth of 14 meters, a molded depth of 6.1 meters and a designed draft of 4.6 meters, the ship is built with advanced duplex stainless steel. It boasts excellent corrosion resistance and strong structural strength, enabling efficient and safe transportation of various liquid chemicals worldwide.
At the ceremony, Robert-Jan Zimmerman, General Manager of the shipowner, expressed sincere gratitude via video link. He noted that he had visited the shipyard in person before and highly recognized the professional capabilities and craftsmanship of Xinjiangzhou's management team, adding that the company's production capacity has been constantly improving. "We would like to thank all team members involved in the project construction. In his speech, Wu Qiuping, General Manager of Xinjiangzhou Shipbuilding Heavy Industry, pointed out that the smooth delivery of the Dutch 135m chemical tanker No.2 is not only a comprehensive inspection of the company's technological R&D, production management and service system, but also fully demonstrates Xinjiangzhou's core strength in building world-class ships.
